The Night Lights Sky Lantern Festival is a captivating event where participants gather to release biodegradable sky lanterns, creating a mesmerizing display of floating lights in the night sky. Typically held in scenic outdoor locations at dusk, the festival allows attendees to write messages, wishes, or prayers on their lanterns before releasing them, symbolizing hopes and dreams. The festival atmosphere is enhanced by live music, food stalls, and other entertainment, as thousands of lanterns illuminate the sky.

What we did with Night Lights

The problem? We need more people to attend this amazing event. So Filmatic was tasked with running the media coverage over the span of two action-packed days that consisted of prep/setup BTS, event coverage, model hiring, photography, video, apparel photo/video, product short-form content, and one amazing highlight reel.

Client Goal: Make the festival look fun as hell.

The approach

Our team of creatives brought their A-game on scene and began shooting high energy preparation and setup BTS content to show the fans just how much work and magic goes into the setup of the event, and why missing out would be a mistake.

Goal: produce social-first images & videos that make people say, “We Should Go To That.”

What We Did

We started with model hiring to add beauty and quality to our shots. In the start of the day, we covered apparel and product lines. When lanterns began to light up, the team was everywhere at once: recording videos, and even getting those picture-perfect Instagram moments.

The Goal: Capture the festival's energy and magic, and create a range of media assets for the team’s marketing and promotional use.

The Result

We had enough footage to create a highlight reel, and a perfectly polished production cut. Our BTS content had fans buzzing, generating an increase in pre-event social media engagement. The highlight reel captured the festival's essence, gaining views and leaving viewers with serious FOMO. Our short clips were a hit on platforms like Instagram and TikTok, leading to a larger increase in follower count for the festival's social media pages. The apparel and product photos boosted merchandise sales. Our final event highlight reel was so polished, the client was shaking.
